Mychal Parker is a seasoned basketball professional and the Co-Founder and Head Coach of New England Select, an elite AAU basketball program dedicated to developing the next generation of athletes. A former standout at the University of Maryland, Mychal brings a wealth of experience as both a player and mentor.

During his collegiate career, Mychal excelled as a dynamic wing player in the ACC, showcasing his skills on one of the nation’s most competitive stages. After college, he continued his basketball journey with a successful professional career, competing internationally and honing his understanding of the game.

As a coach, Mychal is passionate about teaching the fundamentals of basketball while instilling values of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance. His leadership has inspired countless young athletes to achieve their goals on and off the court.

Under Mychal’s guidance, New England Select aims to be more than just a basketball program—it’s a community committed to nurturing talent, fostering personal growth, and preparing players for success at the next level.

Ryan Leads is the Head Coach of the 11U team at New England Select. With a passion for teaching the game, Ryan focuses on skill development, teamwork, and building confidence in young athletes. His dedication to nurturing talent and fostering a love for basketball is central to the program’s success.

Claye Greene is the Co-Founder of New England Select, an AAU basketball program dedicated to developing young athletes. With years of experience in player development and coaching, Claye is committed to helping athletes reach their full potential both on and off the court. His passion for the game and focus on fundamentals make him an integral part of New England Select’s mission to build future leaders through basketball.

James Bartelle is the Head Coach of the 12U team at New England Select. A Washington, D.C., native raised in Boston, he developed his game under Boston legend Al McClain and played varsity at East Boston High. At Curry College (2003–08), he was a three-year starter, led the nation in scoring for a month, and set the school’s career record for three-point percentage (40.5%).
After college, he played professionally in Germany for three years before returning in 2012 to train players at all levels. He began coaching AAU at Mass Premier Courts in 2014, later joining the Dana Barros Gladiators, where he won multiple championships, including a 10th-grade state title and a third-place AAU Nationals finish in 2018. He also coached at Walpole High School as an assistant varsity and head JV coach.
A dedicated student of the game, Coach Bartelle focuses on fundamentals, player development, and fostering a winning culture. His deep basketball knowledge and passion make him a key leader in the program.
